Leadership and Personal Impact

Leadership is not easy, not least because most people are promoted with very little preparation, training or support in how to lead others. And then the pressure to deliver leaves so little time to reflect and work on developing leadership capabilities.

Leaders are not born or made, they are nurtured

Leaders need to make a personal impact on those around them, they need to inspire and motivate other to follow them.  Leaders who have personal impact are those who are self-aware and who are sensitive to the feelings and emotions of those they lead and influence.

Leadership and personal impact is developed through coaching

We recommend a short period of intensive coaching for those managers who need to build high performing teams and who want to take their skills to the next level.

This coaching gives managers the chance to think about what works and doesn’t work when it comes to their leadership style and that of those around them. Practical tasks and behavioral assessments allow individuals to discover what their true leadership style is like in practice, and under pressure.

Areas covered include:

  • Identifying your natural leadership style
  • Understanding how others react to this style
  • Discovering alternatives to “power”, “control” and “telling”
  • Working with Emotional Intelligence
  • Learning to delegate, coach and give feedback
  • Developing inner and outer confidence
  • Prioritizing and ring-fencing your time
  • Communicating effectively with stakeholders
  • Building strategies to cope with politics and hierarchy
