In challenging times it is even more important that management teams communicate openly. These “teams of leaders” need to have a clear picture of what the whole organisation currently looks like and then they need to agree on a compelling vision of what the organisation needs to look like in the future. This is not an easy task, made more difficult when individuals are located around the globe and have differing backgrounds, priorities and pressures. We work with clients to provide a tailored agenda that helps management teams to recognise the barriers to open and constructive communication and to support them in planning and implementing practical steps that will help lead and focus the organisation to meet group and organisational goals. Whilst we don’t get clients to build rafts or abseil down mountains, we do develop bespoke interactive exercises that demand effective team working and collaborative leadership if the group is to succeed. Such exercises have real value when the lessons learnt are used to explore current open issues within the team. The rest of the session can be used to give the group insights into alternative leadership strategies, methods for dealing with conflict and resistance and ways to lead and implement change. |
